Lodge of Finlarig was designed by us, when we set out to take advantage of this unique site above Dulnain Bridge. The Architect was equally excited about this special opportunity to build a modern house that broke with the usual Scottish traditions of so many available houses clustering together in towns and villages.

We both worked in Edinburgh; Katie as an interior designer and John as an advertising agency owner turned web developer.

Katie's projects allowed her to work by remote control to a certain degree - 3 days a week in the Highlands and 4 days looking after her clients in Perthshire and Edinburgh. Her work includes insurance companies, banks, prestige offices and a castle or two. Her amazing attention to detail saw some of the finest carpets and wall coverings being designed and manufactured for her clients.

With the growth of the internet as a marketing tool, my business developed into supplying web development to my client base in addition to the advertising demands. After a period, I changed solely into web development and consultancy when so much of the work appeared on screen rather than client meetings.

We both decided it would be wonderful to move and live in the Scottish Highlands permanently. Lodge of Finlarig was enlarged and became our only home just before the millennium.Now we share our home as a Bed and Breakfast and hope you will enjoy your stay with us.
