Without question, the best place we stayed on our Ireland/Scotland trip this early April was the Tigh Tasgaidh B&B in Dornie, Scotland. It's a lovely home in the shadow of Eileen Donan Castle, gracefully furnished with antiques and decorated with portraits of the owner's ancestors. The lady of the house, Louise Gordon-Canning, is a delightful hostess, and her two lovely sheepdogs made us feel warmly welcomed. Upon learning that we had a ferry to catch in the morning, Louise cheerfully offered to serve breakfast very early — and what a breakfast it was! After ten days of frantic travel, we desperately needed comfort, quiet, and a good night's rest...and we found it at Tigh Tasgaidh. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
